Did I get it Right?

I haven’t physically checked every location since some are on private land and I haven’t had time to seek permission, etc for others.  Plus when I went to visit Edgmond Lock the Water Authority guy was there and said it had been filled in and wasn’t keen on me checking.

So if you know that my information on current status is wrong please email me as below.

Acknowledgements

Rather than re-invent the wheel, I have sometimes taken the liberty of quoting from articles, etc written by other people in this website.  I hope they do not mind as I like to think that history should be in the public domain.  I would, however, like to acknowledge the following especially.

Charles Boyce

Joseph Boughey

Journal of the Railway & Canal Historical Society

Peter Brown

Richard Foxcroft

Richard Morriss

Shrewsbury & Newport Canal Trust

Tony Clayton

Waterways Journal

And of course let us not forget the two men who contributed so much to the creation of the canals in the first place – William Reynolds and Thomas Telford.
